Frequently Asked Questions
How much does this service cost?
You are charged a monthly price for each tracking phone number on your account, plus a per minute charge. We have different prices depending on the number of lines in use. You can use our service even if you don't advertise continuously. If you only run a couple of campaigns a year, just sign up when you need us. Refer to our Plans & Pricing page for more information.
Will the caller know I'm using a tracking phone number
No. When someone calls a tracking phone number the call is forwarded to your regular phone line immediately. If your calls are being recorded, we require a brief notification – such as, "this call may be recorded for quality assurance" – but that is pretty standard. Likewise, your staff will not know that the call is being tracked. The caller's caller ID information will be passed along with the call.
Can I use my existing phone number?
Sort of. You can forward you main phone number to one of our tracking numbers, then forward the tracking number to your second line. This will create a redirect, allowing all calls to flow through the Ad Committee account – counting and recording all of the conversations.
Can I choose a vanity number to use?
No. The numbers are assigned randomly from the local phone rate center.
I use coupons to track my advertising, do I need this service?
Definitely. Coupons work well, but only when someone makes a purchase. They cannot tell you if your ad generated enough interest for a phone call to gather more information about your company, products, and services. That's why Ad Committee works well with coupons.
Do I have to sign a contract?
No. We do not require a contract and you can cancel at any time. There are no setup fees either.
What happens to my phone numbers if my account balance reaches zero?
When your account balance reaches zero you will no longer be able to receive phone calls through the tracking numbers, but you won't lose your phone numbers right away. We know that sometimes your account could be depleted because your credit card expired or you forgot to recharge. If that happens we will continue to bill your account for 60 days with the monthly charges for holding on to any phone numbers associated with that account. To reclaim your account and numbers, simply pay off your balance and fund your account with a minimum of $20. After 60 days, if you haven't paid your account, we may close your account and revoke your phone numbers.
How Accurate is the Caller Location Information?
Caller location is based on the registered location of the telephone used to dial a tracking number. This is not always their exact geographical position, particularly if the caller is on a cell phone.
